We run two teams - and Under 18s and an Under 16s.

Age Eligibility

 

To play for the Under 18s during the 2025-26 Season, you need to be 16 or 17 on 1st September 2025.  If you turn 16 during this season you could play with the Under 18s once you turn 16, though only if your coaches think that you are ready.  If you turn 18 during the season, you would normally continue to play at Under 18 level until the end of the season.

To play for the Under 16s during the 2025-26 Season, you need to be 14 or 15 on 1st September 2025.  If you turn 14 during this season you could play with the Under 16s once you turn 14, though only if your coaches think that you are ready.  If you turn 16 during the season, you would normally continue to play at Under 16 level until the end of the season.

Club Eligibility

You need to be a member of a rugby club aligned to the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) and registered on SCRUMS with that club.  If you need it, you will also be secondary registered with Kelso RFC, so that we can play as a single team in regional and national competitions.

This registration gives you insurance, and pays for things like ground upkeep, floodlights and facilities at the grounds where we train and play.  Borders Girls' Rugby is not a club in itself; it is a collaboration between clubs to improve development opportunities for girls in the Borders and North Northumberland.  (Berwick RFC is aligned to both the SRU and the RFU.)
